- Abstract: This report presents the results of a telephone survey of 54 state WIC directors and 103 local WIC coordinators. This survey was a component of a study of WIC management. The management study is intended to: 1. prepare in-depth case studies of service delivery and program administration at 16 local WIC agencies; and 2. develop administrative guidance materials that might help local WIC managers carry out their responsibilities more effectively. This survey: obtained descriptive information on WIC program administration on state and local levels; collected data that clarified day-to-day tasks associated with WIC services; asked WIC managers for their assessment of indicators of high quality in delivery of WIC services; and identified challenges facing local WIC managers.
