- This paper provides an in-depth discussion of nutrition education for pregnant women and caretakers of infants in the United States. The two central research objectives which define the scope of this paper are: (1) Does nutrition education work? What are effective nutrition education interventions? Are these effective methods replicable? What are the successful elements across interventions? and (2) What additional information is needed to develop nutrition education policies and plan effective programs? What additional research, evaluation tools, demonstrations or data are needed?
