Abstract:
The purpose of this report is to help the Food and Consumer Service design survey questions that collect the information needed to predict FSP eligibility given constraints on the number and types of questions that can be included in the survey. This report compares the errors that would be made when predicting FSP eligibility using different sets of information. These errors are estimated using data from the Survey of Income and Program Participation and FSP-eligibility simulations made by the MATH SIPP model.
