- Abstract:
- The National Food Stamp Program Survey was conducted for the Food and Nutrition Service by Mathematica Policy Research, Inc. between June 1996 and January 1997, to obtain information with which to assess how well the Food Stamp Program is serving its current and potential clients. One of the main objectives of the survey was to examine the food security of participants, in terms of the adequacy of the food available to them and their risk of hunger. The study also examined the amount of nutrients participants used from home food supplies. Both of these are important measures of the program's
