- Abstract:
- The Child Nutrition and WIC Authorization Act of 1989 authorized a demonstration to determine the effect of a change in for-profit center eligibility on participation in the Child and Adult Care Food program by low-income children. The demonstration changed for-profit center eligibility from requiring that at least 25 percent of enrollment receive Title XX subsidies to requiring that 25 percent of children enrolled be from families whose incomes were at or below 185 percent of the federal poverty level. The evaluation of the demonstration was conducted following the first year of operation. This report presents the results of that evaluation.
