Nutrition -- Study and teaching and nutrition
Abstract:
This review covers direct attempts to influence the nutritional knowledge, attitudes, skills, behavior, or health outcome of free-living adults between 18 and 65 years old who are not pregnant or caretakers of infants or preschoolers. The review includes only studies which supply reasonable evidence of measurement and design soundness sufficient to counter plausible competing explanations for the findings. The interventions reviewed here rely on variants and combinations of a few approaches: behavior modification, social marketing, consumer information processing, community organization, diffusion of innovation, stages of change, and health belief model.
